Renfrew County Voices clients and families enjoy the red carpet experience at their Hollywood themed 2023 Formal Gala.
Community members will enjoy atmosphere of one of Europe’s prettiest destinations this weekend- all without ever stepping 0utside the Ottawa Valley.
Renfrew County Voices for People with Developmental Disabilities are busy transforming the Renfrew Wing in time for their formal gala coming this Saturday, April 26th, with organizer Charlene Riopelle giving us a sneak peak at this year’s theme.
The not-for-profit group will welcome in guests for an opening social hour starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner catered by Polly’s Little Shanty from Calabogie, dancing with the help of the evening’s DJ, Danny Dubeau of Dandee Music, and a silent auction.
Riopelle says the proceeds from events like these helps the group put on affordable or free day programming for people with developmental disabilities, helping to pick up the slack for other community groups that might either have a lack of vacancies or might be too expense for some families.
She expects a healthy crowd to drop by the Wing, continuing what has been an amazing response to the cause from the community whether it’s been attending, donating auction items, or even making sure Renfrew County Voices’ clients get to make the most of the evening.
Riopelle stresses that most important part of putting on the gala is to make the night all about their clients, supplying everything from dresses and suits, and esthetician, nail, and hair services to ensure they feel like royalty when they walk through the doors for the event.
