Taken in context, most of the Ottawa River watercourse from Pembroke to Hawkesbury is now covered by Flood Watch.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Pembroke District is advising residents that a Flood Watch is in effect for areas along the Ottawa River between Pembroke and Britannia until Tuesday, April 29th.
A companion Flood Watch issued by the Ottawa River Regulating Committee extends to the area covered along the lower Ottawa from Arnprior to Hawkesbury. It remains in effect until May 21st.
Neither source is expecting major flooding, but if you live in a flood-prone area particularly, you should be on your guard and take customary precautions.
It’s too early to tell if this situation will worsen. Updates are being provided as conditions change.
The Ottawa River Regulating Committee will be reassessing forecast conditions and providing hydrological condition updates on its website daily at www.ottawariver.ca/forecasts.
