Calabogie Motorsports Park believes their course will be the perfect new challenge for stock car racers from across Canada.
The racecourse’s business development manager, Cory Klinkenberg, says discussions to host a NASCAR Canada Series weekend on July 26th and 27th have been in the works for months as they look to add a new road course to their annual tour of the nation on a regular basis.
League officials are counting on what Klinkenberg says is a big base of racing fans in the Ottawa Valley.
Klinkenberg says the Parks 2.81-kilometre Stadium Track will offer racers a unique test of skill and planning as they navigate a full lap in just over a minute, adding that teams are already trying to crack the code on a course that will be brand new for many of them.
It’s part of a larger race weekend that promises high-speed action from the FEL Sports Car Championship, FEL Radical Cup, and the Spec Miata Challenge, delivering non-stop excitement from every viewing area, as well as the chance to explore the paddock, meet drivers, and enjoy evening entertainment.
Klinkenberg suggests catching some of the action at the VIP Quarry area or the seven-story general admission berm, both of which offer some of the best sightlines as racers battle through the track’s final few turns.
One-day and weekend passes are on sale now, and Klinkenberg adds that they have set aside the western part of the course for at least 200 RV and tent camping spaces, which are also available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
