Have you been wondering about where you might hear from at least some of the candidates who will appear on the ballot for Algonquin-Renfrew-Pembroke in the upcoming federal election?
Local candidates include: Randy Briand, United Party of Canada; incumbent MP Cheryl Gallant, Conservative; Eileen Jones-Whyte, NDP; Stefan Klietsch, Independent; Cyndi Mills, Liberal; Seth Malina, Independent; and Danilo Velasquez, Green Party.
It turns out there will be several opportunities. YourTV Ottawa Valley is set to host an all candidates meeting on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. The meeting will air on the channel, as well as on YouTube. Eileen Jones-Whyte of the NDP and Liberal candidate Cyndi Mills have confirmed attendance.
The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation will host an all candidates meeting on Wednesday, April 23, from 3-6 p.m. at the Makwa Community Centre in Golden Lake. Organizers say they expect to offer a livestream of the meeting. Briand of the United Party, NDP’s Eileen Jones-Whyte and Liberal Cyndi Mills have so far confirmed.
On April 25, at 7 p.m., myFM is hosting an all candidates meeting at Festival Hall in Pembroke. Confirmed candidates so far include: Briand of the United Party; Jones-Wyte of the NDP, Independent Klietsch; Independent Malina and Liberal Mills.
The federal election is Monday, April 28. Advance voting will take place on: Friday, April 18; Saturday, April 19; Sunday, April 20; and Monday, April 21.
