Merv Warren, dressed up for the occasion, at the 1st annual Spring Fling at the Wing on Saturday March 2nd, 2024.
After packing the Renfrew Wing seemingly on a whim last year, Merv’s Spring Fling rides again.
The second annual community party returns to the Wing this Saturday night with a tropical flair, with host Merv Warren encouraging the crowd to come dressed in Hawaiian shirts, Bermuda shorts, and anything else fit for the beach as the event raises money for Hospice Renfrew.
He adds that interest from people across Renfrew has been white-hot, just like last year.
Admission is by a freewill donation at the door, which gets you a ticket that opens up the chance to win a number of door prizes donated by community partners.
Merv is also promising plenty of snacks and drinks sponsored by friends in the community, fun for the kids, and an awesome line-up of live entertainment that will have guests dancing the night away.
The first Spring Fling managed to draw somewhere between 700 and 900 partygoers, but Merv is thinking bigger and better as he and his team try to figuratively bring the house down.
Last year, the Spring Fling brought in over $1,000 and tables full of non-perishable food for the Renfrew and District Food Bank, as well as $580 through a 50/50 draw supporting the Renfrew Wing.
