A little something arriving in your mailbox can help Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support (RASHS) in a big way.
Shannon Williams, home support development co-ordinator, explains that the organization has just launched its major fundraiser, the Green Envelope of Hope campaign.
The postal strike delayed the fundraising initiative, making it even more important for home support to get the message out.
Fundraising is a vital component of what Seniors’ Home Support does.
Households in Renfrew and surrounding area will be receiving their green envelope in the mail. You’re asked to stamp it, add your donation, and mail it back to the agency.
Williams says there are a number of important programs on offer, including one of the most essential – volunteer drivers who transport clients to medical appointments.
An annual home support service that’s just around the corner is the income tax clinic. The program is one that a number of clients rely on to complete their taxes efficiently and correctly.
Another component of RASHS is the Golden Age Activity Centre, located adjacent to the home support office and supporting the social lives of seniors through congregate meals, entertainment and a wealth of activities.
Frozen meals, home maintenance workers, friendly visiting, foot care clinics and more are among the various other programs.
Williams is witness every day to how needed and welcomed RASHS programs are and she urges the public to learn more and consider donation.
