Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Ontario and Canada are not going to just lay down when threats of tariffs are on the horizon.
Following a meeting with the country’s Premiers – Ford said they are willing to push back.
Ford said they will use every tool in their toolbox to push back against the proposed 25 per cent import tax on all Canadian goods – including cutting energy off to our neighbours south of the border.
Ford said that is not an outcome he would like to see, but it may come to that.
He also says, as a country, if the US wants to implement tariffs – Canada should for tit-for-tat.
Ford says Canada needs to have their own set of tariffs in order as well, and any money received from them needs to be distributed to businesses around the county and not go into a federal bank account.
