Our first true blast of wintry weather is likely on its way Wednesday.
Tuesday afternoon, Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for Wednesday and Wednesday evening, reporting that five-to-10 centimetres of snow is expected.
Officials are warning the public of reduced visibility at times in heavy snow that is expected to begin Wednesday morning and continue through to Thursday morning.
“A low-pressure system will bring snow to the area beginning Wednesday morning. The snow is expected to taper off overnight or Thursday morning. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” reads the Environment Canada advisory. “Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
