A 25-year-old woman is facing serious charges following a tragic crash on Highway 417 West near Carp Road on May 31. The incident, which has drawn significant attention, resulted in one fatality and left two others with life-altering injuries.
According to investigators, the woman’s eastbound vehicle crossed the center median into oncoming traffic, leading to a devastating collision. A young child, who was seriously injured in the crash, later succumbed to their injuries, prompting an outpouring of grief from the community. The two other individuals involved suffered significant injuries that will impact their lives for years to come.
The woman has been charged with careless driving causing death and two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm. She is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in November, where the case will proceed.
