It was the perfect way to cap off a successful season for the Renfrew Millionaires Special Olympics softball team.
The Special Olympians gathered at Ma-te-Way Park to meet members of the Renfrew Wolves Junior A hockey team for a friendly game on the ball diamond.
Frank Belanger, head coach of the team, said he’s grateful the Wolves agreed to the matchup.
Belanger said the Tuesday afternoon exhibition game was likely the last of the season, and it was one the ball players look forward to.
Fun times were not all the Renfrew Millionaires gathered this season, they saw some success in competition, as well, said Belanger.
Belanger thanked athletes, families and community partners for their support.
