Renfrew Collegiate Institute will use this Thursday, June 27th, to salute some 90 graduates taking their next steps towards post-secondary education, the trades, or the workforce.
Principal Neil Farmer says he’s been impressed with the amount of activity that RCI’s senior students have demonstrated in his first year in the role, as well as their shared commitment with staff and the community to being involved locally.
He adds that the student body pulled together to accomplish a lot over the year, representing the school “very well” in the process.
RCI’s 118th commencement ceremony will be led by Valedictorian Derrick O’Grady, who Farmer says has yet to “reveal his cards” in terms of what speech his fellow students will consist of. Regardless, Farmer calls O’Grady an “outstanding student and outstanding person” who has demonstrated amazing character throughout the year.
Farmer has also been moved by the community’s commitment to provide a wide range of bursaries, scholarships, and other awards that encompass as many of RCI’s standout students as possible.
Friends, family, and neighbours within the community are welcome to join RCI for their 2024 graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 27th, at 7:30 p.m.
