The fire occurred Saturday morning, and was addressed by Chris Couper at Arnprior Town Council’s session Monday (June 10th)
GoFundMe organizer Sydney indicates “The fire started in the mid-morning while Kyrah and her elderly dog were sleeping. Thankfully they have both made it out with no injuries. Unfortunately, she has lost everything other than the clothes on her back, and the urn of her late puppy…”
The burned home is locate adjacent to the official boundary of Braeside and the Town of Arnprior
Sydney Lafont describes her friend as, “a fun, adventurous, kind young girl who has been living on her own since 16. She has been a resident of Arnprior for many years, and hopes to stay within the community. Kyrah just moved into this house a couple months ago, with hopes of a fresh start and a new job…
Councillor Couper says the Mutual Aid Pact assures assistance between communities that are united as one in tragedy.
The GoFundMe organizer advises: “Kyrah is in need of everything. The money from this fundraiser will go to her to help her find a new home as soon as possible, as well as trying to replace some of her belongings.
For now, she is unsure of what the next few days will hold, but we will do our best to get her back on her feet.”
