The journey of Castlegarth Farms in White Lake spans from farm to table and back again.
After making use of the family farm’s produce as part of his work as a chef for a number of years, Matt Brearley returned home with partner Tanya Sprowl to continue the organic traditions that have spanned four decades through Matt’s parents.
Part of their contribution to the next generation of Castlegarth Farms is an expanding social media presence, which not only give them easy way to communicate and interact with their customers and interested community members, but also acts as an important source of information between farms all over the Ottawa Valley, whether it’s growing conditions, sudden weather challenges, or even just ways they can keep up with the neighbours,
The continuing engagement with social media allows to the farm to use their own sensibilities to make their own brand, which they’re not afraid to get bold with on their Facebook and Instagram accounts (they did mention taking a May Day tradition of going barefoot to the next level, so you have been warned).
