
The accused in a second-degree murder case made a brief appearance in Pembroke court today to find out the delivery of the verdict has been postponed until early May.
Brandon Lamoureux, of North Algona Wilberforce, was charged in the death of 40-year-old Gilbert Rumleskie, following an incident at the Pine Tree Motel in Eganville in July 2021.
The trial wrapped up on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the Superior Court of Justice. Among those called to the stand was Lamoureux, who testified in his own defense.
Justice Anne London-Weinstein, who is presiding over the case, is now expected to deliver the verdict May 6.
