Ed Reid and Glenn Arthur in recent years were the dynamic duo of local fundraising, but the combination clicked even in the days when they were Arnprior Junior B Packer teammates.
Ed says Glenn earned his Golden Age creds right after his 2018 retirement, by jumping in and helping to found the Arnprior Seniors Active Living Centre.
Reid, and Arthur combined their talents as co-chairs for the new Grove Nursing Home local fundraising drive.
The campaign was a remarkable success, not only in terms of the amount raised, but also involving the record time it took to achieve the accomplishment.
Most recently Glenn, Ed, Lori Van Wyk and Darrel O’Shaughnessy spearheaded efforts to renovate and outfit the new location for the Arnprior McNab-Braeside Men’s Shed; a work in progress from which Glenn’s talents will be missed.
In terms of community activism and accomplishments, Ed Reid says it has to come down to a coin toss (between Tommy Sullivan).
The community has its chance to remember greatness- a Memorial Tribute to Glenn Arthur is planned for the Nick Smith Centre, Sunday (February 25th) at Noon- on the ice surface of the Glenn Arthur Arena.
