If you happened to be tuned in to Super Bowl 58, the most watched television event in history, you just might have spotted a little bit of Renfrew on display for all of Canada to see.
Chris and Tanya’s No Frills, and the seniors grocery bus program, were featured in a national commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.
It was last fall that store owners Chris and Tanya Wojcik were approached about being part of the commercial, and they were thrilled to be involved.
The day of filming for the local portion began at 2:15 a.m. and ran until bout 11:30 a.m. and all involved had plenty of fun, said Tanya.
Seeing it completed and in particular seeing it air during the Super Bowl, has been exciting.
The commercial was a great way to show off the store and the community, she said.
Tanya explains that the seniors’ bus is just one initiative that they have been juggling.
The grocery bus program is a partnership between No Frills, Renfrew and Area Seniors’ Home Support and Renfrew County Bus Lines that once a month offers seniors the opportunity to get picked up at various locations, brought to the store to shop, then returned to the stops.
