Local farmers were able to hold an important fundraiser just ahead of the massive snowstorm on Friday night.
A special benefit and silent auction were held Friday evening at the Renfrew Armouries in support of the Gould family, who lost their dairy farm to a massive fire back in December.
Angela Field, a fellow farmer who was part of the organizing group for the benefit, has revealed on social media that the event raised almost $55,000, with some donations yet to be counted.
Field adds that they were “blown away by the incredible crowd” that packed the Armouries building ahead of a major snowfall in Renfrew that evening.
