Dropping a little bit of money off during your next thrifting spree will go a long way in our community.
Their main organizer, Sandy Gombik, explains that the money raised from the cash inside their Raglan Street shop will help parts of the Renfrew and Area Food Bank that aren’t always considered.
It’s not the first time the thrift store’s donation jar has aided the local food bank, as money raised in 2023 was used to purchase a whole cow that was processed and frozen for their clients.
In fact, it will be a bit of a change to the purpose of the jar, as Gombik says it usually helps a different cause each month.
The On the Clothesline Thrift Store has been using community donations to support local organizations and not-for-profits since it first opened in Renfrew’s downtown core in late 2018.
