Reminscent of the Sandvik closure during the holiday period of 2018, here we go again.
A December 18th internal memo to employees has announced the closure of Arnprior Aerospace, slated for March of next year.
Financial difficulties in a changing marketplace have been identified as the cause of the local job loss.
The document was shared with another local media source, and repeated calls to Arnprior Aerospace have not been returned.
myFM understands that the International Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 1542, which represents workers at the plant, is already actively lobbying elected officials to address the situation.
Arnprior Aerospace has an almost 70-year history in the community, and is parent firm to two satellite outlets- one in the United States and the other in Mexico.
