Add a tight timeline for replies- within a regime that doesn’t allow for municipal input, and thirteen wells adjacent to Thomas Cavanagh’s Pakenham Quarry (located in Pakenham and McNab-Braeside) could quickly run dry.

McNab-Braeside Council has, within a now nine-day window, opportunities to encourage replies to a Ministry of the Environment notification concerning Cavanagh’s needs for dust control and dewatering at the pit.
Mayor Mark MacKenzie notes there are three levels of permitting, with the application in question being the highest.
There is apparently no expressly authorized avenue for interventions.
There are actually five separate applications for the site, with a volume need adding up to (over 83 million litres- for the years starting January 1st.) well in excess of that total.
Council deputized Hoddinott to contact affected residents and encourage that they too make comment to the MOE by October 27th expressing any concerns.
Permit to Take Water application number 9498-7GLQZZ comments should be addressed to Karin Ajderian, Ministry of the Environment by October 27th, as required by Ontario Regulation (387/04).
