For Ryan Leonard, there’s been no better fit than Junior A hockey.
Ryan would start his career by joining his own former Junior A coach as an assistant for the Blind River Beavers. He would eventually work his way up the ladder until he was coach, general manager, and owner of his own club by age 27.
After finding championship success on the ice and in the community with the Cochrane Crunch, Ryan saw an opportunity to develop a new program in Renfrew when he purchased the Kanata Lasers in 2020.
Two top-four finishes in his first two years coaching in the Central Canada Hockey League bode well for Leonard, who credits his wife for being a strong support system as he has continued to commit himself to his work.
