It’s one last romp at Renfrew’s Rec Centre for the Stone Fence Theatre.
“Tom Thomson and the Colours of Canada,” a ragtime musical from the Rankin-based troupe will run at the soon-to-be-closing Renfrew Rec Centre Friday, April 21st in support of Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
Nigel Epps stars as famed Canadian painter Tom Thomson in a story detailing both his life and the speculation around his death in the Ottawa Valley, based largely around the writings of journalist Roy MacGregor.
Epps will be joined by co-star Sarah Wright as Thomson’s presumed fiancée Winnifred Trainor, as well as featured actors Ambrose Mullin, Rob Tremblay, Jayson Bradshaw, Shirley Hill, Beverly Lewis, and Kirk Harber, with Virginia and Marianne Mallen. The show is directed by Chantal Elie.
Producer Ish Theilheimer says that they are excited to play the Rec Centre one last time before it shuts down, adding that they are looking to top their visit in 2016 when they raised over $25,000 for local hospitals with their show “High Times at the Heart Institute.”
Audience members will also be able to experience an Interactive Tom Thomson Art Exhibit developed by actor/artist Beverly Lewis and artist Christine Peltzer before the show.
Show dates and tickets for Tom Thomson and the Colours of Canada can be found on the Stone Fence Theatre’s website.
