Arnprior’s Madelyn Cazabon is looking forward to competing in the Ontario Winter Games being held in Renfrew County this weekend.
The 10-year-old, Grade 5 student who attends St. Joseph’s Catholic School, has trained in Wushu for the past two years at Sunny Tang Kung Fu Ottawa in Dunrobin.
She says that Wushu is a lot of fun but hard work too.
Her love for the sport was born watching her father train in Martial Arts and her mother beams with pride.
The Ontario Winter Games describes Wushu as a form of contemporary Chinese martial arts that blends elements of performance and martial application.
Wushu kicks off at Arnprior District High School on Friday, then runs from February 10th to 12th, and is free for the public to attend.
