Renfrew’s Fire Department have given two long standing members a proper send off.
Renfrew Town Councilor Jason Legris, the Chair for the Recreation, Fire & Protective Services committee, took some time at their Tuesday, January 17th council meeting to honour Captain Tim Hill and Firefighter Andrew Westbrook, who both retired over the past year.
Fire Chief Mike Guest noted the two combined for nearly 80 years of service to the community.
Both Legris and Guest also congratulated two recent promotions to Acting Captain.
They wrapped up by welcoming three fresh faces on Renfrew’s Fire Department with special mention from Chief Guest.
The special mentions came ahead of an introduction for the new council on the roles and responsibilities that Renfrew’s Fire and Emergency Department hold, their automatic and mutual aid agreements with neighbouring municipalities, and their efforts to further public education on fire safety and emergency management.
