The totals from the first ever Food Drive Challenge for Renfrew’s downtown banks has come in.
Chantel Coules with the Bank of Montreal says they reached out to the TD Bank, Royal Bank, and Scotiabank along Raglan Street to collect donations, and everyone was able to pitch in over the past few weeks.
Altogether, over 400 food items and more than $400 went to the Renfrew and District Food Bank on Friday, December 9th, and Coules says that success bodes well for when they do it again sometime next year.
The staff at Renfrew’s Bank of Montreal are still hammering out the details for what the next food drive will look like, as Coules notes that the Renfrew Food Bank’s needs extend past the holidays.
The Bank of Montreal is still seeing donations brought in even after the drive ended, but say they’re more than happy to collect them and bring them to the food bank for you.
