The Renfrew County District School Board will close schools on Friday if education workers are off the job. Director of Education Pino Buffone says they will be letting parents and guardians know this afternoon. The school board is ready to switch students back to online learning if needed.
RCDSB Director of Education Pino Buffone says school secretaries, office administrators, custodians, and members of central departments would be off the job for any potential protest this week and going forward.
Buffone is hopeful for a smooth and quick resolution.
In addition to schools being closed, extra-curricular activities would also be placed on hold.
If a resolution is not reached, roughly 55,000 education workers across Ontario will be off the job for a planned walkout on Friday, November 4th.
