The All Hands on Deck Food Drive will be rolling through the Ottawa Valley today.
96.1 myFM General Manager Bob Dillabough fills us in on the details.
Dillabough adds that filling up local food banks is vital to solving food insecurity in the area, especially as families get ready for Back to School season.
Dillabough says that you can donate food at the Metro and Chris and Tanya’s No Frills in Renfrew, as well as the Giant Tiger in Shawville on Thursday, with the proceeds going to local food banks in Renfrew and Campbell’s Bay.
You can also donate cash and gift cards at the Bonnechere Bakery and Bistro in Renfrew, as well as the Pontiac Home Bakery in Shawville.
The hope for the day is to fill the Bristol Auto Performance truck on location at the Giant Tiger in Shawville, as well as the Layton Knight-Locke Plumbing and Heating truck at Renfrew’s Metro and the Farrell’s Landscaping truck at Chris and Tanya’s No Frills with as many foods and cash donations as possible before sending them off to the food banks that same evening
While all donations are appreciated, the Renfrew and District Food Bank has prepared a shopping list of items that are most needed. You can find that list here.
