Active learning will curl into action throughout the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.
15 floor curling sets will be shared across the school board’s 20 elementary schools and two high schools thanks to a Canadian Tire Jumpstart grant.
The RCCDSB says the Community Development Grant worth $10,187 gives them a new active learning tool in the curling sets. Teachers at the schools will be given the resources to integrate them into the curriculum for subjects like math, arts, language and social studies.
The School Board tells myFM that could not be more thrilled to get the Jumpstart grant. They’ve also requested items, like push sticks for kids with mobility issues, to make the floor curling sets accessible and enjoyable for everyone
They add that the activity will also promote fairness, inclusion, respect, and kindness through sports.
