The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has charged a 15-year-old from Pembroke after investigating threats made to a local high school.
Police say Friday morning (October 22nd), the high school principal reported threats to the safety of the school were made on social media by a student.
An investigation from police found the youth was also involved in a separate trespassing incident during the overnight hours of October 20th to the 21st at a home in Pembroke.
The 15-year-old from Pembroke is facing two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, trespassing at night, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible entry and three counts of failure to comply with a sentence.
The accused was released on conditions to a parent with a court date coming up in November.
The OPP takes all public safety threats seriously and the police and school continue to work together to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for everyone.
The same day the OPP were investigating threats to the Pembroke high school, threats from a 14-year-old in Laurentian Hills were also reported at an elementary school in Petawawa.
