Earlier this year, the French Catholic School Board announced the third-go round for its planned elementary school on Baskin Drive in Arnprior after two previous tries failed due to tender costing concerns.
A site plan for the proposed facility came before Arnprior Council on Monday (August 23rd) and immediately met with resistance from elected representatives, according to Mayor Walter Stack.
The Mayor says that since 2017, when the matter last came to Council, the traffic situation has worsened.
Stack says Councillor Lynn Grinstead suggested placing the new French Catholic school building further back on it property with an entrance-exit lane to reduce roadway traffic.
A revised site plan will come back to Arnprior Council at a future meeting.
