Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament (MP), Cheryl Gallant, is making headlines after a fellow MP accused her of promoting conspiracy theories and spreading false information.
Gallant, who is a member of the Conservative Party of Canada, is accused by Liberal MP Jennifer O’Connell of Pickering-Uxbridge, of fear mongering, repeating anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and spreading false information.
In an online video, Gallant can be heard saying “there’s the Conservatives who are common sense and then with a few exceptions all the rest their radicals.”
The Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament goes on to say these “all or nothing people were never ever going to be happy with the legalization of marijuana, they want all illicit drugs to be legal.”
Gallant adds “They want anything goes in all aspects of life. They want to normalize sexual activity with children.”
The 57-second clip online has been viewed on Twitter over 110,000 times.
In a longer 3-minute video, Gallant can be heard talking about conspiracy theories. Gallant says “The elites call it The Great Reset or Build Back Better or Green New Deal.”
The Conservative MP adds “The names change but the goal remains the same. More power for the powerful and less freedom for everyone else.”
Gallant also says we have a “radial environmentalist as Heritage Minister” who is behind upcoming legislation to have government censors regulate social media and tax Google or Facebook when searching for the news. Gallant says if these companies face these costs they will ban Canadians from searching the news before Trudeau calls for a snap election.
myFM reached out to Gallant for a comment and she has not responded. She has told other media outlets her comments were taken out of context.
Another member of Erin O'Toole's team is promoting deranged conspiracy theories. MP Cheryl Gallant has insisted that Liberals want to “normalize sexual activity with children”. These are disgusting & dangerous lies! This fear mongering poses a threat to our democracy. 1/3 pic.twitter.com/vKCcPunwDu
