Renfrew OPP say that last Wednesday morning (December 23rd) about 10:30AM, officers with the Detachment, the Canine Unit and the Community Street Crime Unit responded to a two vehicle collision on Johnston Road in Horton Township.
There were no injuries sustained as a result of the collision- but the story doesn’t end there.
When officers arrived on scene it was determined that one driver had fled the collision, and a firearm was seized from one of the vehicles.
As a result of the investigation Tommy LECLERC, 29 years old of Quebec has been charged with:
Three counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Failure to Comply with a Probation Order, Failure to Comply with a Release Order, Having care and control of vehicle with cannabis readily available, Failure to remain, and Failure to yield from a driveway contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on December 24, 2020.
