
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Ottawa Valley.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing very strong wind gusts and torrential rain.
Environment Canada says we could see up to 50 mm of rainfall in an hour or less and damaging winds up to 90 km/hour.
The storm is expected mid afternoon into the late evening.
A heat warning across the Ottawa Valley also continues with hot and humid conditions today. It could get up to 33 degrees, but feeling more like 40 with the humidex.
A cold front will pass through southern Ontario from west to east this evening, bringing in a slightly cooler and drier air mass for Tuesday.
