Renfrew’s Fire Hall celebrates 100 years this year. Though plans have yet to be finalized, Chief Kevin Welsh would like to create a more open culture at the hall by inviting the public to more activities, including the opportunity to view a full day of training at Ma-Te-Way, as well as an open house and celebration that may include a barbecue sometime in the Spring. In addition, Welsh would like to increase awareness of tours of the hall for families and host an open house in conjunction with the Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival in October. A report to council also hinted at a special event in late April or early May, but the Chief kept those details close to the vest.
