The Canadian Armed Forces is taking part in a training exercise this week that will involve Griffon helicopters. The training will take place in the Fort Coulonge, Cobden and Beachburg areas starting today (November 18th) and wrapping up on Sunday (November 24th). Flights will be taking place daily between 11:00 am and midnight. Periods of increased noise may be experienced by local residents during these times. Efforts will be made to restrict low-level flying over populated areas where possible. The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) is extremely thankful for the support and understanding of the local residents during this valuable training evolution. CANSOFCOM says they always plan training in a way to minimize possible disturbance to local residents.
