A pair of Doctors have been added to the surgical program at Renfrew Victoria Hospital. After a gift of $25,000 was made by Jeff Powers, a Renfrew man who was treated for colon cancer at RVH, the hospital has expanded their services in the unit. Dr. David Carver was recruited as the surgical site chief in January 2019, and Dr. Janelle Rekman joined the surgical team at RVH in mid-September this year. With the new Doctors, the surgical program at RVH now offers additional expertise in minimally invasive procedures, emergency general surgery and cancer surgery. Since the donation, the Daycare Surgery waiting room will be named JM Power Aggregates in his honour.
