It’s Election Day in Canada!
Voters in Algonquin-Renfrew-Pembroke will join voters across the nation in casting ballots.
Polls open at 9:30 a.m. and stay open until 9:30 p.m.
Millions of people have already voted. Elections Canada reports that more than 7.3 million people voted early between Friday, April 18 and Monday, Apr. 21, 2025. That’s a 25 per cent jump compared to 2021, when about 5.8 million voted early.
In Algonquin-Renfrew-Pembroke, 23,035 voters cast ballots in advance compared to 19,705 in the last federal election in 2021.
A driver’s licence showing your current address is acceptable ID, or any card issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial, local) showing your name, current address, and photo.
Or just bring along your voter information card and one other piece of ID that shows your name and address.
Use the Online Voter Registration Service to check your registration, register or update your address information.
