For the second year in a row, the local Tim Hortons’ spring Smile Cookie campaign will benefit Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support (RASHS) and officials there couldn’t be happier.
Shannon Williams is the development co-ordinator for RASHS.
MyFM caught up with Williams on Renfrew’s main street as she and a helper were out working to promote Smile Cookie week and several other fundraising initiatives.
Williams was pleased to report this isn’t the first time RASHS has benefitted from Smile Cookies.
Funds raised go a long way towards supporting local seniors. Partially funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care but the majority of funding comes from fundraising, said Williams.
Programs include transportation to medical appointments, the income tax clinic that is currently ongoing, a frozen food program, friendly visiting, and more.
Smile Cookie week runs from April 28 until May 4 at both Tim Hortons locations and you can stop in as many times as you like to pick some up.
Or, explained Williams, there’s another option.
Other upcoming fundraisers include Oh Canada Trivia at Karra’s Way May 17 and a Shred Event at 190 Mask Road on May 31 from 9 a.m. to noon.
If anyone has any questions or would like to volunteer, reach out to Seniors’ Home Support.
