The “Hair Today Gone Tomorrow” fundraising campaign has officially reached the halfway point in its ambitious goal of raising $100,000 for local charities. Organized through the Community Foundation of Ottawa Valley, the initiative has seen tremendous support from the community, with generous donations helping push the campaign past the $50,000 milestone.
Driven and created by local advocate Eddie Minns, the campaign is rallying support for four vital local organizations: St. Vincent de Paul, The St. Joseph’s Food Bank, The Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre, and The Christmas Project.
“I’m continuing to pound the pavement, spreading the word, and pushing toward the finish line,” said Minns in a recent community update. “Together, we can make a big difference!”
The campaign is set to conclude on May 31, and Minns is encouraging the public to keep the momentum going. Contributions of any amount are welcome, and tax receipts are available for donations of $25 or more.
Donations can be made by cheque payable to The Pembroke, Petawawa District Community Foundation. For those wishing to donate via Interac e-Transfer, funds can be sent to foundation@givingthatgrows.com using the password “foundation”, with a note indicating the donation is for “Hair Today Gone Tomorrow” and including a full mailing address.
Minns expressed gratitude for the outpouring of community support and stressed the importance of every donation in helping meet the final goal.
For more information or to get involved, residents are encouraged to reach out and support the cause before the May 31st deadline.
