Canadian record holder and three-time Olympic runner Melissa Bishop-Nriagu is going to have to make room for several more awards.
The Eganville native has been announced as one of five inductees to the Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame Class of 2025 and she will also be inducted into the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
Bishop-Nriagu lives in Essex County with her husband, fellow Canadian athlete Osi Nriagu, and their two children.
She competed at Olympic Games in in London, Rio, and Tokyo and holds the Canadian record in the 800m. She also made history with a silver medal at the 2015 World Championships — the first Canadian woman to ever reach the podium in that event.
Details on the Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame induction ceremony are expected to be announced later this year. The Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee Gala will take place on Nov. 8 at the Ciociaro Club of Windsor
