We’re in the middle of an election where almost no one is talking about the climate.
That’s Ann Pohl, spokesperson for the Climate Matters group of the Kitchissippi-Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Council of Canadians, who says closer to home, the County of Renfrew IS.
Ann points to the foyer of the County Building on International Drive in Pembroke.
Efforts by the local group have perhaps contributed to the Climate getting a seat at the Renfrew County Council table.
The Climate Matters spokesperson says the County has also indicated the next step in the recognition process.
If you can’t make it to the County Building to peruse the postcards, watch a video representation of the display on the K-O-V Facebook Page.
The Climate Matters spokesperson says the scope of the new Climate Action Committee won’t be confined to the territory comprising the County of Renfrew.
Ann Pohl says it’s taken a collective effort to reach the point where things stand today.
More hands are welcome to the cause- Mother Earth will never turn you away!
