Provincial recycling regulations are changing, and Renfrew’s businesses are in the crosshairs.
The Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce explains that the new framework for municipal blue box programs will exclude local businesses starting in 2026, leaving the Town of Renfrew to explore establishing their own separate collection system to pick up the slack.
The chamber is gauging the needs of the local business community and the current service gaps within the community through an online survey that they’ve encouraged affected businesses and organizations to take part in by May 12th.
