Renfrew County residents in flood prone areas are being encouraged to keep a close eye on changing conditions along local waterways.
A water safety statement from the Ministry of Natural Resources warns of high water conditions in the area between now and April 25th due to continuing warm weather, melting lake ice, and rain in the forecast.
Residents are advised to stay away from watercourses where flows are high and where banks might be unstable, and the Ministry adds that people near Lac Coulonge and Chats Lake along the Ottawa River should take additional precautions while the statement is in effect.
They also suggest caution while using forest access roads that are prone to spring washouts.
The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Further updates will be issued as appropriate.
