Guide Dog Innis steals the spotlight alongside organizers for the local Lions Club Walk for Guide Dogs
The Renfrew Lions Club hopes the community will join them as they double dip into the giving spirit for Easter.
Not only are the Lions hosting a food drive supporting the Renfrew and District Food Bank from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Renfrew Metro this Saturday, April 12th, but club member Diana Laroque says there’s a great chance to win big as they continue fundraising efforts ahead of their annual Walk for Dog Guides.
Laroque says J&J’s Chocolate Sensations has also donated a gift basket of fine Belgian treats for the raffle, adding that the draw will take place while the club collects cash and food for the Food Bank at 1:00 pm this Saturday.
She also points out that the community’s continued support of their push to grow the local Lion’s Club’s membership and raise awareness for the annual Walk for Dog Guides, which might be one of the club’s most recognizable charitable efforts, has been nothing short of amazing as they keep pushing the total raised before hitting the streets of Renfrew this June.
It’s also a cause that directly impacts our community, as guide dogs are used across the Ottawa Valley and beyond in assisting people with vision and hearing issues, autism awareness, seizure response, diabetes alerts, and other service needs.
Raffle tickets are $5 each and available via e-transfer to jasper12@hotmail.ca. Anyone entering is asked to leave their name and the number of tickets they want to buy in the transaction’s comment section.
