The Upper Ottawa valley OPP have provided an update to the fire on Morrison Road in Laurentian Valley Township on Thursday night.
It had been reported that one person was found deceased in the structure but OPP have now reported that a second individual was found and had succumbed to injuries.
The identities of both deceased persons have not been confirmed.
Renfrew County paramedics assessed 10 people at the scene, treated one patient with smoke and heat related injuries and transported a firefighter to hospital with injuries sustained while performing their duties. Both patients were considered stable with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing under the direction of the UOV Crime Unit, with assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS).
