Get ready for another blast of winter weather as the Ottawa Valley’s spring refuses to get out of the starting gate.
Environment Canada has placed a snowfall warning for Renfrew County, with as much as 15 centimetres of snow falling across the region starting as a mix of rain and snow late Monday evening, turning to snow at times heavy overnight before eventually easing off on Tuesday afternoon.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 5 centimetres per hour and local blowing snow thanks to northwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will create difficult conditions for travel and reduced visibility on area roadways.
The weather agency suggests postponing nonessential travel until conditions improve.
