Renfrew County was able to avoid the worst of this past weekend’s forecast, but some homes in the area remain without power as we start the week.
HydroOne is currently reporting a number of isolated power outages near Barry’s Bay, Laurentian Valley, Golden Lake, Haley Station, and Killaloe this morning as more than 400,000 customers were without power in Central and Eastern Ontario to start the day.
As of their most recent estimates, the local outages are expected to be fixed by noon today, while some problems to the south of the Ottawa Valley could take days.
The weather is affecting our roads as well, as our local school bus consortium says service to the Madawaska area has been cancelled due to icy conditions.
