A massive pile of drugs has been taken off the street after a major police operation that found its way into the Ottawa Valley.
Several police teams from Ontario and Quebec, plus the Canada Border Services Agency, conducted nine search warrants on homes and vehicles in Ottawa, Gatineau, and Renfrew between March 3rd and 5th, leading to 58 charges split among ten people.
As part of the investigation, police seized more than a kilogram of suspected cocaine, 8 grams of suspected fentanyl, hundreds of various drug tablets, $187,419 in Canadian cash, two firearms and several items related to drug trafficking.
Four people from Renfrew, 49-year-old Sherra Lynn White, 38-year-old Elizabeth Roche, 33-year-old Jordan Newton, and 45-year-old Todd Megrath, were arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Megrath is also facing charges for resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.
Megrath and White were remanded into custody ahead of a court date later this week, while Newton and Roche were released ahead of their court appearances in early April.
