All eyes in our local minor hockey ecosystem will turn to the centre of Renfrew County for something special later this month.
The Eganville and District Minor Hockey Association will play host once more to the Lisa Sharpe Memorial 4-on-4 tournament on March 16th, pitting teams from U13 Competitive up to U18 AA in a fun, fast tournament that will pay tribute to a well-known local hockey mom who the community lost back in 2023.
Over the past two years, the tournament has raised just over $12,000 in support of local youth mental health initiatives. Money brought in from this year’s event will go towards an outdoor space built in the memory of Sharpe at the Ketcha Star Daycare, where she worked and had a positive impact on many local families for over two decades.
Individual player registrations can be made right now for $50, with players being split into teams that will mix them by age, skill, and association to make the teams as fair as possible.
All games will be played at the Eganville Arena from 8:00am until 4:00pm., and the league says fans can also show their support through a number of raffles, a 50/50 draw, and other prizes to be won.
More details can be found on the EDMHA’s website or by contacting the league via email.
