Retiring Renfrew Public Library Children's Coordinator Susan Klinck (center) alongside library CEO Kelly Latendresse and Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney
Renfrew town council opened their Tuesday night meeting with a fond farewell to a local mainstay in children’s literacy.
Mayor Tom Sidney used the first minutes of the session to recognize the retirement of Renfrew Public Library Children’s Coordinator Susan Klinck and to celebrate a remarkable career that saw her work under five library CEOs, leaving a lasting impact on generations of young readers.
Klinck has had a couple of months to wind down in her role since first announcing her retirement ahead of the start of the year, capping off 36 years of keeping the library’s children’s section stocked with the latest recommendations, creating engaging programs for local youth, and a lot of community outreach.
Sidney points out that the effort has not gone unnoticed.
Klinck has high hopes for her replacement, Jana Tamosetis, who she expects will bring a sense of excitement and enthusiasm that will keep the library’s children section in good shape going forward.
